The word 'gobshite' came up on yesterday's episode of Countdown and it was pretty amusing
OVER THE YEARS there have been plenty of awkward moments in on Channel 4′s Countdown. Case in point:
Here are some other, slightly tamer examples:
There has to be some people who watch this show for no reason other than in the hopes of seeing a curse word accidentally appear on the telly.

Viewers who enjoy these moments got some entertainment yesterday when Rachel Riley had to spell out the word ‘gobshite’.
The person who runs Channel 4′s Twitter account felt personally victimised.
When Susie Dent read the word aloud it was censored, and Nick Hewer asked “Are you allowed to say that?” Susie went on to define it as a “stupid, foolish or incompetent person.”

It isn’t the first time that this has happened either. In 2015, Myleene Klass used the word ‘gobshite’ and wasn’t asked if she was allowed to say the word on TV. In fact, Myleene was told by Nick that it was ‘a perfectly respectable’ word. (Which it is).
What changed, Nick?
